Who needs an excuse, in the dead of winter, to hot summer days and sulty nights at the shore?

We don't, but if we did, Flying Fish Brewing Company of Somerdale offers the best excuse yet.

On Saturday, the brewery will begin pouring Forever Unloved (F.U.) Sandy, its new microbrew created to raise funds for the victims of Superstorm Sandy. The beer is a hybrid wheat-pale ale that will be sold through more than 75 restaurants, bars and liquor stores, with 100 percent of proceeds going to family's hit hardest by the storm.

“This Saturday, we are encouraging all beer lovers to head out and drink a few pints for the Jersey Shore,” Flying Fish Founder Gene Muller.  “Every single aspect of this beer, from the man-hours spent brewing it to the hops used to season it to the kegs that will contain it, has been donated – so every cent brought in will go to Superstorm Sandy victims.”

Beer sales are estimated to bring in $45,000, which Flying Fish says will be distributed to select grassroots,  New Jersey-based non-profits dedicated to Sandy relief.

Some locations will tap F.U. Sandy this weekend, others later this spring. Call ahead to avoid disappointment. In South Jersey,  F. U. Sandy will be available at : Amada at Revel, Atlantic City;  Applebees; Canal's, Mt. Ephraim; Eden Lounge, Atlantic City; Joe Canals, West Deptford; Keg & Kitchen, Westmont; High Street Grill, Mt. Holly; Lucky Bones, Cape May; Mexican Food Factory, Marlton; Mustache Lounge A.C. Beerfest (April); Passion Vines, Somers Point; PJ Whelihans; Roger Wilco, Pennsauken; Sweetwater Grille, Cinnaminson; The Irish Mile, Haddon Township; The Pour House, Westmont; Toga Bar, Caesars Casino, Atlantic City; Victory Lane, West Berlin.
